Terms of service
Effective 12 July 2026 · applies to the embeddable.music web application, its public API and content-delivery services, the docs.embeddable.music documentation site, and the embeddable.music Discord integration (together, "the service").
The short version. embeddable.music is a free service that turns music links into shareable preview pages. Use it kindly: don't abuse the API, don't try to rip full tracks out of it (it won't work), and remember the music itself belongs to the artists, labels, and platforms — we just help you share it. The service is provided as-is, by a small independent operator, with no uptime guarantees. If something here doesn't work for you, your remedy is to stop using the service.
1.Who we are and what these terms cover
embeddable.music is a small, independently operated service. By using the service — visiting a preview page, calling the API, signing in, or adding the Discord integration to a server — you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. Our privacy policy describes how data is handled and forms part of these terms.
embeddable.music is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Spotify, Apple, Google/YouTube, Deezer, Tidal, SoundCloud, MusicBrainz, or Discord. All trademarks belong to their owners.
2.The service
You give the service a link to (or search for) a song, album, or artist, and it produces a shareable preview page with artwork, a short audio preview, and buttons that open the music in the viewer's own preferred streaming service. Previews can also be posted into Discord servers through the embeddable.music Discord integration, and preview pages unfurl as rich cards when shared in messaging apps and social platforms.
The service is currently provided free of charge. We may add, change, or remove features at any time.
3.Accounts
Signing in is optional and happens through Discord or Spotify OAuth — the service has no passwords of its own. You are responsible for the security of your Discord and Spotify accounts and for everything done through your embeddable.music session. You must meet the age requirements of the provider you sign in with. You can disconnect the service at any time from your provider's account settings, and you can ask us to delete your account entirely (see the privacy policy).
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, abuse the service, or create risk for us or other users.
4.Music content and rights
All music, artwork, artist images, metadata, and audio previews available through the service belong to their respective rights holders — artists, labels, distributors, and the streaming platforms that make them available. The service does not sell, license, or grant you any rights in that content. Audio previews are the short promotional clips the platforms themselves make available; the service does not provide full-track playback or downloads.
You must not use the service to:
- extract, rip, scrape, or permanently store audio, artwork, or metadata beyond what the service itself presents;
- circumvent any technical or licensing restriction of a streaming platform;
- misrepresent the source or ownership of any content.
If you are a rights holder and believe content available through the service infringes your rights, contact us (section 13) and we will respond promptly, including removing cached content where appropriate. We may terminate or block users, API clients, or Discord servers that repeatedly facilitate infringement.
5.Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- disrupt, overload, or interfere with the service or its infrastructure, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of it;
- use automated tools to hammer the API or CDN beyond reasonable, human-scale use (see section 6 for API terms);
- use the service to harass, deceive, or harm others, or for anything unlawful;
- resell, rebrand, or misrepresent the service as your own;
- interfere with other users' or Discord servers' use of the service.
We may rate-limit, block, or ban traffic or accounts that violate this section, at our discretion and without notice.
6.API use
The embeddable.music API is publicly documented at docs.embeddable.music. You may use it for reasonable, non-abusive purposes, subject to these terms. The API is provided as-is with no guarantees of stability, versioning, or continued availability; endpoints may change or disappear without notice. We may introduce rate limits, authentication requirements, or usage tiers at any time. If your use of the API imposes unreasonable load, we may throttle or block it.
Content returned by the API remains subject to section 4 — it is licensed by the platforms and rights holders, not by us, and must not be cached or redistributed beyond what is needed to display it.
7.Discord integration
If you add the embeddable.music integration to a Discord server you manage, you are responsible for complying with Discord's own Terms of Service and community guidelines, for the configuration you set (including webhooks), and for how the integration is used in your server. We may disable the integration in any server that abuses it.
8.Availability and changes
The service is operated on a small scale by an independent maintainer. We do not guarantee uptime, availability, or data durability. Cached content, preview pages, generated links, and even entire features may change or disappear. We may suspend or discontinue the service, in whole or in part, at any time. Where reasonably possible, material changes will be announced in release notes or in-app.
The service is built on top of third-party streaming platforms and music databases. If a platform changes, restricts, or revokes access to its content or APIs, features may break or disappear without warning, and we are not liable for that.
9.Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY OF METADATA, OR UNINTERRUPTED OPERATION. Music metadata is aggregated from third-party sources and may be incomplete or wrong.
10.Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE MAINTAINER OF EMBEDDABLE.MUSIC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SERVICE. TO THE EXTENT ANY LIABILITY CANNOT BE EXCLUDED, IT IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE PRECEDING TWELVE MONTHS — WHICH, FOR A FREE SERVICE, IS ZERO. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including liability for willful misconduct.
11.Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the maintainer of embeddable.music from and against any claims, damages, liabilities, and reasonable costs (including legal fees) arising from your misuse of the service, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any third party's rights, including a streaming platform's terms or a rights holder's intellectual property.
12.Governing law and venue
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Alaska, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising from these terms or the service that cannot be resolved informally shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Anchorage, Alaska, and you consent to their jurisdiction. Where consumer-protection law in your country of residence grants you mandatory rights, nothing in these terms limits them.
13.Contact
Email legal@embeddable.music for questions about these terms, rights-holder requests, or abuse reports.
14.Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Changes take effect when published on this page, with the effective date updated above. Material changes will be called out in release notes or in-app. Continuing to use the service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
15.Miscellaneous
If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. These terms, together with the privacy policy, are the entire agreement between you and embeddable.music regarding the service. You may not assign these terms; we may assign them in connection with a transfer of the service.
